Introduced in 1990, the emblem of the RUFINO M REYES MEMORIAL FOUNDATION INC tries to make visual its objectives and thrusts.
Founded on the truth of Christian virtues, the organization seeks to put into action the elements of selflessness transforming society to a more just and humane one.
It signifies our aim to bring about the toral empowerment of the whole person through developmental and progressive action. The eagle attempting to soar to greater heights and the two elements of a person the body and soul. Each element must be uplifted in order to achieve wholistic change in society. Our emphasis on both body and spirit will bring about the needed societal transformation that is the goal of the organization.
Through innovation and inspiration, our goals will be achieved and that society will transform fulfilling our statement of philosophy.
Organized on August 14, 1985, the RMRMFI was a pioneer in youth development and economic empowerment in the island of Mindoro.
Primary objectives of the organization was to provide scholarship and grants to poor and deserving youth, to develop sports and civic consciousness in the youth by engaging in activities for the development of the rural youth through systematic training and seminars, as well as job creation in the villages through assistance in the establishment of small and medium scale enterprises and livelihood training.
Ove the years, these objectives have evolved into systematic technological trainings and competence in new intelligence so that whatever geographical disadvantaged can be bridged by the wonders of new technologies bringing about continued trainings and people empowerment.
PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS:
1. Forerunner in sports and educational development in the 1980s to the early 2000 until the introduction of universal educational grants supported by the national government;
2. Supports small scale infrastructure projects prior to the devolution of local government funding;
3. Island economy programs supporting small scale livelihood women enterprise and agri-fisheries programs in the villages;
4. Technology trainings by way of introduction of information technology and creative technologies
5. Cultural appreciation training
6. Grassroot sports
